TEAPOTS ARE NOT FOR STOVETOP USE. These teapots are not to be used for boiling water on the stove. These teapots are ONLY for steeping and serving tea. Water should be brought to a boil in a tea kettle or other pot, and then poured into these teapots.
Most (but not all) of these teapots have filter baskets that will hold tea leaves, and serve as strainers (so that the leaves do not wind up in your cup).
For best results, pre-warm the teapot by filling it with hot water. Drain the heating water immediately before use. Add tea leaves to strainer, and pour in fresh boiling water. Allow to steep 3-5 minutes (depending on the tea), and serve. For those pots that do not have strainers, use teabags.
A few of these pots can be kept warm by putting on a tea warmer and heating with a tea candle. Those pots are identified below. Some of the pots have good thermal retention, and do not need this; and some are small enough (1-2 servings) such that "keeping the tea warm" is not necessary.
