For making tea, and for adding water for Americanos, you should not use the "Hot Water" output on your espresso machine. This water comes from the boiler: it's not circulated, not fresh, and is highly acidic. In addition, it can have milk residue in it from milk that accidentally siphoned in from the steam wand.
Instead, if you use hot water for preparing tea or other hot drinks, you should have a water heater so that you will have FRESH hot water. All of these models connect to a 1/4" water input line, and will remain full. You can set the temperature as desired.
