Why would you need a scale to deal with coffee? There are many reasons, and this depends on who you are, and on HOW you deal with coffee. This is why we offer three granularities of scales: 1) scales having a resolution of 0.1 grams or better (for serious cuppers - note that a single Arabica bean is roughly 0.1 grams), 2) scales having a resolution of 1 gram (for personal use, and baristas), and 3) analog scales having a larger range for shops that sell coffee to customers a few pounds at a time. In addition, we have precise weights so that you can calibrate your scale precisely.
Note that most home grinders don't "dose" the coffee. So if you make an espresso or two at home, how do you grind just the right amount of coffee so that you don't have waste? Simple. Weigh the coffee BEFORE you grind it. For a double-shot of espresso take 14 grams of beans, and grind them! It's very simple with one of our scales, and no coffee is wasted.
