As you can read in our article on La Pavoni, La Pavoni started the commercial espresso machine industry in 1905. Since then, La Pavoni has been providing high quality commercial espresso machines to the European market. Now you can get the same Italian commercial espresso machines in the U.S. from TheCoffeeBrewers. The "La Pavoni Bar Star" line of commercial espresso machines feature the largest boilers in the commercial espresso machine industry, which will allow you to froth continuously. These espresso machines come with 2, 3, or 4 groups, and are made to handle the highest peak volumes of any coffee shop or espresso bar. The "La Pavoni Bar Star" line of espresso machines is a redesign of the original "La Pavoni Bar" line of espresso machines, with sexier lines, an updated look, and a few new features.

La Pavoni offers the "Bar Star" line of commercial espresso machines, which are made for high-capacity restaurant use. The La Pavoni Bar Star line of commercial espresso machines is for large restaurants, espresso bars, and coffee houses in which there are pronolged "rushes" for espresso drinks. The La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machine line is a redesign of the traditional legacy Bar line of commercial espresso machines. It is made with sexier lines and with a new and vibrant Candy-Apple Red finish (also available in Black). It also has a few updated features, and has a 12 liter water softener unit included in the price.
All La Pavoni commercial espresso machines take 50/60 Hertz electrical power. The La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines have the largest boilers in the commercial espresso machine industry. They were originally designed for the new EU electrical standard of 230 Volts, but will also operate at 220 Volts. (The power and current numbers in the table below are specified at 230 Volts. The current will be slightly higher at 220 Volts.)The La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines come in either two-group, three-group, or four-group configurations. All La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines feature TWO steam wands. This allows two people to froth milk simultaneously. All La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines are fully automatic espresso machines, on which your shots can be preprogrammed.
In American coffee shops, there is more of a demand for cappuccino and latte than for plain espresso. What will tend to limit the rate at which your staff can make drinks is not (primarily) the number of group heads on your commercial espresso machine. The limit will more likely be the rate at which your staff can froth and steam milk for cappuccino and latte. When there is a prolonged rush, you will need to be frothing milk nearly continunously throughout the rush. What enables you to do this is a large boiler. In commercial espresso machines having smaller boilers (such as the La Pavoni Pub line), you will need to let the espresso machine "recover" for a few minutes (say, 3-5 minutes) after steaming for a long stretch (say, 10-15 minutes). If you will need to be steaming continuously for longer than this, you should look at the La Pavoni Cafe and Bar Star commercial espresso machines.
In addition to having the largest boilers in the commercial espresso machine industry, the La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines each feature TWO steam wands; one on each end of the espresso machine. With a La Pavoni Bar star commercial espresso machine, you can have two staff members frothing milk continuously during a prolonged rush. The extra large boilers were built specifically for this reason.
If you do not anticipate prolonged "rushes" in your coffee shop or restaraunt, then the La Pavoni Pub commercial espresso machines may meet your needs quite adequately.
Commercial espresso machines having large boilers (like the La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines) were built to run at 230 Volts, which is the new European Standard, but they will operate at any standard Voltage in this range (208-240 Volts). They are fully NSF certified.
This is because the larger boilers in these commercial espresso machines require the higher voltage to heat it quickly enough to get your shop up and running in the morning. This means that if you do not already have a 220 Volt outlet where you are going to put your commercial espresso machine, you will need to have your electrician put one in for you. Note that most zoning departments will require that the outlet be within 3 feet of the commercial espresso machine. You should check with your local zoning board.
The La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines come in 2, 3, or 4 group configurations. All of these commercial espresso machines can be ordered with a Candy-Apple Red, or a gloosy Black finish. There is no price difference, although please call before ordering so that we can be sure that we have exactly what you want.
The standard features of all La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines are:
The different features of the La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines are outlined in the table below. Prices include a water softener unit, and a 1-year parts warranty. They do not include freight. Additional warranty coverage can be purchased if desired.
The prices include the La Pavoni commercial espresso machine itself, a 12 liter water softening unit, and a 1-year parts warrany. The price does not include freight. Specifically, prices above include:
The 1-year parts warranty (which comes with the commercial espresso machine) provides replacement of any defective parts - deemed defective through no fault of the user - for the first year. This does not include labor. This kind of warranty is fairly standard throughout the commercial espresso machine industry. We offer an additional warranty that covers labor for the first year, parts for two more years, and two scheduled "preventative maintenance" service visits. The details are below.
We can also handle the installation of your commercial espresso machine for you for an extra fee (see below), or you can do it yourself.
When your La Pavoni commercial espresso machine arrives, it needs to be installed, and if you aren't sure how to use it, you need to be shown how to use a commercial espresso machine. (You will be able to figure it out yourself by reading some of the articles about commercial espresso machines on our site; being shown is merely quicker. We recommend that you read the articles on commercial espresso machines and on running a coffee shop too.) We will arrange for the installation of your commercial espresso machine, or you can have it done yourself. Our installers will provide about an hour of training on your commercial espresso machine as part of the installation.
For us to provide installation of your commercial espresso machine, your site must be installation-ready. This means that there has to be a high-voltage (220 Volt - 240 Volt) outlet, a water outlet, and a floor drain (as per your local health code) near the commercial espresso machine. Specifically:
You will have to have these things in place before our people come to install your commercial espresso machine. The person doing the installation of your commercial espresso machine will probably not be a licensed electrician and/or a licensed plumber (although they might be), and are not authorized to provide plumbing and/or electricity as part of the installation of your commercial espresso machine..
You must arrange for these things with your own electrician and/or plumber ahead of time. We will be happy to discuss what's required with them if you aren't sure. If our installer arrives and these things have not been done, he or she will not be able to do the installation of your commercial espresso machine, and they will have to make a second trip. You might be billed a "nuissance fee" for this, depending on how far the installer had to come.
Note that the commercial espresso machine will come without a plug at the end of the power cord. This is because there are different outlet conventions for high-voltage circuits, so there is no "standard" plug for 220-240 Volts. Part of the installation procedure for your commercial espresso machine is to put a plug on the power cord that matches your outlet. If you will be doing the installation of your commercial espresso machine yourself, you will have to provide this plug.
Here are the additional expenses that you will incur in getting your La Pavoni commercial espresso machine operational. Some of these are optional conveniences that you might wish to take advantage of, or not. Some of them are unavoidable.
Each preventative maintenance "tune-up" service visit takes about 90 minutes, and includes:
Most all coffee shops grind their coffee fresh. We have two models of La Pavoni commerial coffee grinders that were made to match the La Pavoni Bar Star commercial espresso machines. They come in Red or Black - the same colors as these commercial espresso machines. Check out the "Accessories" section inside our "Commercial" section for details and prices.
With the La Pavoni Bar Star line of commercial espresso machines, we offer a new special 6-serving group handle with a filter basket. This allows you to make lots of espresso very fast during your busy periods. Check out the "Accessories" section inside our "Commercial" section for details and prices.
To provide full service of cappuccino and latte in addition to plain espresso, you will need some standard barista supplies: frothing pitchers, frothing thermometers, tampers, etc. You may also want some standard tools and cleaning supplies that are used in the daily maintenance of your commercial espresso machine. See our "Barista Supplies and Maintenance" section inside our "Commercial" section. Depending on your store, you might want real cups, saucers, and spoons. Check out our "Cups & Saucers" section.
If you have any questions, or want recommendations or suggestions based on your particular situation, don't hesitate to drop us a note, or give us a call.
