Some of the features of the ARC include a powerful pump, simple to use controls, a ground coffee holder as well as an espresso pod holder, an efficient heating element for making hot water and steaming milk, a milk frothing tip, a removable water tank, a removable drip try and a cup warming surface. Simple Switch Controls
Reliable controls in the front of the machine make it easy and simple to use. Simply push the button and the flow of espresso starts and continues until you have the desired amount of coffee. Indicator lights tell you when the machine is at the proper temperature for brewing espresso or steaming milk.
Brewing Group
This high quality chrome-plated brass grouphead is designed after Ascaso's commercial espresso machines. It ensures that heat is evenly distributed and reduces "hotspots" which make a more temperature-consistent espresso. It also ensures that water is evenly distributed across the espresso grounds for a better extraction, i.e. a better tasting espresso!
Heavy Duty Coffee Holders & Filter Baskets
The ARC uses heavy-duty commercial-grade coffee holders which are chrome-plated brass with plastic handles. There is a coffee holder for ground coffee and one for espresso pods. A single shot and double shot stainless steel filter basket is included. The larger basket allows the user to use more ground coffee for a stronger espresso or coffee.
16 Bar Water Pump
This 16 bar pump has the power to force water through coffee grounds thereby producing an impressive espresso. This is more than enough pressure for an excellent extraction.
2 Liter Water Tank
A large 2 liter water tank, equipped with a water level indicator, is removable and can be filled at the sink, if so desired.
Drip Tray and Cup Heater
A stainless steel drip pan and chrome-plated cup tray are easy to remove and clean. To keep your espresso cups toasty, there is a scratch-resistant cup-warming surface on the top of the machine. (Nothing makes espresso cold as fast as cold cups!)
Brass Boiler
The brass boiler gets up to temperature quickly and stays there, with a fast recycling time. There are 3 thermostats which control the temperature of the espresso, the steam, and one that specifically monitors the boiler to protect it from overheating in the event the machine is left on for extended periods of time.
Construction with Longevity in Mind
The ARC espresso machine is constructed of steel and then finished with an enamel paint. All of the components of this machine are designed with longevity in mind as well as low maintenance.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Your machine must be periodically cleaned in order to keep it running in good condition. Scale buildup from naturally occurring minerals in water can damage sensitive components such as the inside of the boiler, and if left unchecked, can cause considerable damage. By descaling your machine every 2-3 months, your machine will be trouble-free for years. Even if you have a sophisticated water filtration system, descaling and general cleaning is highly recommended, and especially is you use well water.
